Judge Ambler has been a full time neutral since 2000 and frequently is appointed by judges as well as lawyers to serve as a discovery referee, special master, and private judge. In addition to being respected for his legal knowledge and fairness, Judge Ambler is also known for his accessibility and technology savvy, which makes him both efficient and effective at supervising discovery, hearing discovery motions, managing eDiscovery, trying cases as a private judge, and accomplishing settlements. At JAMS, Judge Ambler has served as a general referee and/or discovery referee in numerous state court proceedings, including complex real estate and business disputes as well as probate matters. He has also served as Special Master in significant federal cases. His experience spans a vast array of practice areas, including intellectual property, business, licensing disputes, real estate, probate, and healthcare. He is a member of the national Academy of Court-Appointed Special Masters.
