Judge Kough joined JAMS following a distinguished 13-year career in the Los Angeles courts. During her final two years on the Superior Court, she was one of only six judges in the Complex Litigation pilot program where she was responsible for managing, trying, and otherwise resolving the most complicated multi-party civil matters. Judge Kough is a member of the Academy of Court-Appointed Masters.

  • Arbitrator in multi-million dollar construction defect matter, including extensive discovery issues
  • Discovery referee for class action product liability lawsuit regarding dental bonding agent
  • Discovery referee for complex construction matter involving airport remodel
  • Discovery referee for toxic cleanup dispute between the City of Santa Monica and numerous oil companies regarding MTBE in groundwater
  • Discovery referee in multi-million dollar dispute over business interference involving major shopping malls
  • Discovery Referee in various matters involving contentious parties
  • Special master in federal court action involving television industry
  • Trial judge in consumer dispute over compliance with environmental laws concerning the transportation, storage, and loading of coal products in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, including extensive discovery issues
  • Trial judge in disputes over mold and other toxic substances allegedly found in large apartment complexes; cases involved extensive discovery issues
  • Special master in determination of application of attorney-client privilege to document produced and possible claw back of document
